Schneider Joins Blue Jackets Organization

19-Jul-12

Swift Current Bronco General Manager and Head Coach, Mark Lamb, announced that Assistant Coach, Andy Schneider, will be leaving the organization to join the Columbus Blue Jackets’ scouting staff.

Schneider, 40, was an Assistant Coach for the club for the 2011-12 season and focused primarily on the players’ skill development.

Andy was a huge part of our off-ice training and we are going to miss him very much in the hockey department.” States Bronco General Manager and Head Coach, Mark Lamb.  “He will never be too far away as he will still be keeping Swift Current his home.  We wish him all the best with Columbus.

Prior to his term with the Bronco organization, Schneider held an extensive hockey career in Europe playing 10 consecutive seasons in the Deutsche Eishockey Liga, three seasons with the Austrian Erste Bank Hockey League, one in the Swedish Elite Hockey League and one in the 2nd Eishockey-Bundesliga.

A well-known Bronco alumnus and member of the Bronco Hall of Fame, Schneider played four seasons with the Broncos (1989-93) and wrapped up his Western Hockey League career with a total of 367 points in 309 games played.

The Swift Current Broncos Hockey Club wishes Andy all the best with Columbus and would like to thank him for his countless contributions to the Bronco organization.
