Scarlett Signs with New Jersey Devils

The New Jersey Devils announced Thursday they have signed Swift Current Broncos defenceman, Reece Scarlett, to an entry-level contract.

Scarlett was selected by the Devils in the sixth round, 159^th overall in the 2011 NHL Entry Draft. In 71 games played last season, the 6’1”, 178-pound Sherwood Park, AB product posted a career-high nine goals and 40 assists for a total of 49 points while leading all Bronco blue liners in scoring. Scarlett ranked fourth amongst all defencemen in the WHL in power play assists with 25 and 14^th in points with 49.
