Gordon Leads Broncos to OT Win at Brandt Centre12-Oct-12
Special teams were the answer for the Swift Current Broncos as they defeated the Regina Pats 3-2 in overtime at the Brandt Centre Friday night.
Play would remain scoreless until nearly the six minute mark of the second frame as Pats' Chandler Stephenson would open the scoring on the man advantage. Minutes later, New Jersey Devils' prospect Graham Black would respond for the Broncos on their second power play opportunity of the night with his fourth of the season. The Broncos would return to the man advantage shortly after, where Coda Gordon would capitalize following through off of a feed from Adam Lowry to give Swift Current their first lead of the night.
Pats' Stephenson would come back and tie the game up at two near the 14-minute mark of the third period. Both netminders would stand strong for the duration of regulation as the contest headed to overtime.
In the extra frame, a roughing call to Kade Pilton would allow the Broncos the extra attacker, where Calgary Flames' prospect Gordon would capitalize resulting in a 3-2 Broncos win.
The Broncos outshot the Pats 30-23 and went 3/6 on the man advantage.
