Broncos Take Electrifying Win on Home Opener22-Sep-12
Adam Lowry's hat trick led the Swift Current Broncos to a 7-1 victory over the Moose Jaw Warriors in front of an electrifying crowd of 2,607 at the Credit Union iPlex.
Colby Cave opened the scoring seven minutes in with his second of the season to put the Broncos on the board. Just over a minute later, Bronco captain Adam Lowry would tally a shorthanded marker to 'wow' the crowd and put Swift Current up by two.
Ryon Moser would extend Swift Current's lead to three minutes into the second frame, with Lowry following soon after with his second of the evening on the power play. Near the midway mark of the frame, Calgary Flames prospect Coda Gordon would add a single of his own making it 6-0. But, Moose Jaw's Morgan Rielly would cut into the Broncos lead on the power play to make it 6-1 after two.
In the final frame, Bronco alternate captain Josh Derko would revive Swift Current's six-goal lead with his first of the season on the man advantage. Shortly after Lowry would earn the highly-touted hat trick around the eight minute mark of the final frame erupting the energetic crowd into a flury of cheers and resulting in a 7-1 final.
