Broncos Suffer First Regulation Loss9-Oct-12
The Swift Current Broncos suffered their first regulation loss Tuesday night falling 3-2 to the visiting Red Deer Rebels.
Rebels' Haydn Fleury would open the scoring just under seven minutes into play to put Red Deer up by one. Near the midway mark of the first, New Jersey Devils prospect Graham Black would retaliate on his third of the season and lock the game up at one.
Rebels' Matt Bellerive would restore their one goal lead scoring the lone goal of the second frame.
But, rookie Tanner LeSann would strike back following through off of a feed from Richard Nedomlel to tie the contest up for the second time. A late goal by Brooks Maxwell in the dying minutes of play would put the Rebels up by one once again. Following the goal the Broncos would pull netminder Eetu Laurikainen for the extra attacker in hopes of evening the score, but the Rebels would deny all scoring chances resulting in a 3-2 final.
Shots were relatively even with the Rebels taking the edge (32-31). The Broncos went 0 for 5 on the man advantage.
