Broncos Run Out of Gas; Fall 5-1 to Raiders

21-Oct-12

Four games in five nights finally took its toll on the Swift Current Broncos as they fell 5-1 to the Prince Albert Raiders at the Art Hauser Centre Sunday night.

Mike Winther would open the scoring under four minutes into play to give the Prince Albert Raiders an early lead.  Near the end of the first period, the Broncos would head onto their second man advantage of the evening as Raiders' Dakota Conroy would go to the penalty box for High Sticking.  Graham Black would capitalize on the power play on his sixth of the season to lock the game up at one.

Dakota Conroy would revive their one goal lead minutes into the second period on his fifth of the season and by the end of the middle frame it would be 4-1 Raiders with additional goals from Chance Braid and Conroy (his second of the evening).

Landon Bow would replace Eetu Laurikainen in net for the third period as the Broncos would look to bounce back from a three goal deficit, but a single from Anthony Bardaro midway through the frame would extend Prince Albert's lead to four resulting in a 5-1 final.

The Broncos were outshot 48-29 and went one for six on the man advantage.

UP NEXT: The Broncos welcome the Lethbridge Hurricanes (5-6-1-0) to the Credit Union iPlex Tuesday night.  Then, they travel to Cranbrook, BC to play the Kootenay Ice on Friday night.
