9-Jan-12

Swift Current Bronco General Manager and Head Coach, Mark Lamb has announced that the club has acquired forward, Levi Bews from the Vancouver Giants in exchange for a 6th round pick in the 2012 WHL Bantam Draft.

Bews was dealt to the Giants earlier this year from the Saskatoon Blades.  In 38 games played between both teams he has totaled three goals and six assists.  The 6’1”, 189lbs. 17-year old was taken 42nd overall by the Blades in the 2009 WHL Bantam Draft.  The Longview, AB product also helped Team Pacific to Bronze at the 2011 World U-17 Hockey Challenge where he posted one goal and one assist in six games played.

Levi is a big body, power forward type that fits well into the age group we are looking to improve on,” states Assistant General Manager and Director of Player Personnel, Jamie Porter.  “He’s moved around a little bit this season, but we are hoping we will be a great fit for him.”
