Broncos Edge Pats at Brandt Centre; Extend Win Streak to 6

Jan 20, 2013 - 04:13 GMT

Eetu Laurikainen's 30-save effort led the Broncos to a 2-1 victory over the Regina Pats at the Brandt Centre Saturday night, extending their win streak to six games.

Morgan Klimchuk would open the scoring roughly seven minutes in to give the Pats a 1-0 lead on his 24th of the season.  But, minutes later Graham Black would retalitate shooting one past netminder Matt Hewitt to lock the contest up at one.

Colby Cave would give the Broncos their first lead of the evening early into the second period on his 13th of the year.  Neither team would be able to get on the scoresheet from that point on, as the Pats would pull netminder Hewitt in the dying seconds of regulation for the extra attacker in hopes of tying the game.  But, a strong defensive effort from the Broncos would hold off the Pats offense and result in a 2-1 final.

The Broncos were outshot 31-23 and went 0 for 5 on the man advantage.
