Broncos Drop Second Straight; Fall 4-1 to Blades

3-Feb-13

The Swift Current Broncos fell 4-1 to the Saskatoon Blades at the Credit Union Centre Saturday night.

Michael Ferland would open the scoring around the midway mark of the first period to put the Blades up by one.  But, a Delay of Game penalty to Brenden Walker minutes later would send the Broncos on the man advantage, where defenceman Richard Nedomlel would capitalize tallying his fourth of the season and tying the game up at one.

The contest would remain locked at one until Ferland would come back for more and record his second of the evening minutes into the middle frame to restore Saskatoon's one goal lead.

Matej Stransky would follow suit for the Blades capitalizing on their third power play opportunity of the evening to make it 3-1.  The Broncos would pull netminder Eetu Laurikainen in the dying minutes of play for the extra attacker, but Ferland would tally the empty-netter (and earn the hat trick) to seal the deal and make it a 4-1 final.

The Broncos were outshot 42-28 and went 1/5 on the man advantage.

UP NEXT:  The Broncos host the Saskatoon Blades on Friday, February 8th.  Then, the Broncos welcome the Prince Albert Raiders on Saturday, February 9th.

TONIGHT'S 3 STARS:
