Broncos Drop Decision to Raiders
10-Mar-12The Swift Current Broncos fell 5-2 to the Prince Albert Raiders at the Art Hauser Centre on Friday night.
Christian Magnus would open the scoring with his 10th of the season minutes into play following through off of a beautiful feed from Ryon Moser. Mike Winther would respond for the Raiders near the midway mark of the first period to tie the contest up at one.
Exactly one minute into the second period Anthony Bardaro would give the Raiders their first lead of the evening shooting one past netminder Jon Groenheyde. But, Moser would lock the contest up at two with his 14th of the season.
Bardaro would steal the show in the third frame tallying three singles. He would score his 33rd of the season around the middle of the final frame. Then, a Holding call to Dalton Reum would allow Bardaro to capitalize on the man advantage upping the Raiders lead to two. In the dying minutes of play the Broncos would pull netminder Groenheyde for the extra man, but Bardaro would seal the deal with an empty-netter to make it a 5-2 final.
The Broncos were outshot 44-33 and went 0/2 on the man advantage.
