Broncos Defeat Pats

The Swift Current Broncos defeated the Regina Pats 5-3 at the Brandt Centre.  Morgan Klimchuk opened the scoring early in the first on the Pats first power play of the night.  Less then five minutes later, Trevor Cameron retaliated with a power play marker to even the contest at one.  The game would remain tied until the midway mark of the first when Brad Hoban would notch his second of the pre-season following through off of a feed from Taylor Vause and making it 2-1.  The Broncos would get their third power play of the evening, but Pats’ Andrew Rieder would kill their momentum scoring a shorthanded goal and locking the game at two.  In the final minute of the first, Vause would notch a single and restore the Broncos one goal lead.

Pats’ Jack Rodewald would score the lone goal of the second and make it a 3-3 contest.

Midway through the final frame, Hoban would tally his second of the evening with helpers from Vause and Coda Gordon.  Roughly four minutes later, Denis Bosc would score his first goal as a Bronco and make it a 5-3 final.

Bronco netminder Steven Myland stopped 26 out of 29 shots for the win.  The Broncos were 1 for 10 on the power play, whereas the Pats were 1 for 6.

UPCOMING GAMES:  The Broncos continue their pre-season action this Friday as they head to Prince Albert, SK to battle the Raiders.  Then, the Broncos host the Prince Albert Raiders at the newly created Crescent Point Wickenheiser Centre in Shaunavon, SK.
