Broncos Blanked by 'Canes23-Oct-12
The Swift Current Broncos couldn't get past netminder Ty Rimmer as they fell 4-0 to the visiting Lethbridge Hurricanes Tuesday night.
Sam Mckechnie would open the scoring roughly five minutes into play giving the Hurricanes an early one goal lead.
In the second period, Bronco captain Adam Lowry would be called for Roughing sending the Hurricanes on their second power play of the evening, where Spencer Galbraith would capitalize upping their lead to two. 10 minutes later, Jamal Watson and Russell Maxwell would tally back-to-back markers less than a minute apart to give the Hurricanes a 4-0 lead after two periods of play.
The Broncos would outshoot the Hurricanes 5-3 in the third frame, but would still have trouble beating netminder Rimmer as they would fall 4-0.
The Broncos outshot the Hurricanes 31-26, yet went 0 for 5 on the man advantage.
UP NEXT: The Broncos embark on a two-game road trip starting off in Cranbrook, BC on Friday night when they battle the Kootenay Ice. Then, they visit the ENMAX Centre on Saturday night to take on the Hurricanes.
Levi Bews (6', 181lbs.) and 'Canes Jaimen Yakubowski (5'10", 202lbs.) dropped the mitts in the lone fight of the contest.
